First, let me say thank you to some of the great sponsors that pitched in this year to help. This was a crazy event, and it wouldn’t have been possible without all of your support. A loud and and resounding thanks also goes out to the Thirsty Bear and in particular to Mari Ramirez. She helped make sure all the pieces fell into place getting this off the ground.

I want to thank John Avery, Sean Clark, Michael Keen, and Vlad Nagornyi for keeping me steered in the right direction, Jason Boche for linking me up with some great folks and John Troyer for some great advice along the way. On top of some great sponsors, we had tremendous feedback from the community.

I started pondering t-shirts and what we could do there, and about the same time Rich Brambley sent Sean and I a graphic idea that was awesome. With that, t-shirts were taken care of. Thanks Rich.

I was thinking there should be some photographic evidence of the evening, and Greg Lato said he’d take some photos for us (Ok, I’m in for a portrait next year well done!)

Steve Beaver, Scott Lowe, Edward L. Haletky, Hal Rottenberg, Eric Seibert all offered up books to be raffled off, and thanks to EVERYONE who said “yea, this guy isn’t completely crazy”.

I’ve been getting almost nonstop positive feedback from this years event, and I’m really stoked to start planning for next year.

We’re really going to focus in on what’s important before the show: Meeting up, and reconnecting with friends we may only see once a year is center stage for this event. With all of the tweets, emails, forums, etc. it’s easy to stay in touch, but nothing beats putting down a few pints together before a show like VMworld. This is going to be the community driven event to make that happen.

I’m going to be reaching out to other active members of the community over the next few months, (what’s the rush?) and start sorting out what we should change, tweak, or do completely different for next year.

I’ve got my list started, go ahead and start sending me yours.

Thanks again to everyone who contributed, sponsored, or showed up!
We’ll foist some pints again next year!
